Demontage spawned in early 2001, over a night of beer, THC and blasphemous occult summonings. The purpose of the Great Channeling, conducted by compatriots Spatilomantis and Abominatrix, was to call forth a malign, devillish entity to inhabit a shell of mortality and wreak havoc upon the Earth. The resultant recording of this Horrible Night, "Retroexorcism", became the first declaration of Demontage and brought to mind ancient hymns of black metal forefathers Bathory, Hellhammer and Darkthrone.

Both the perpetrators of this scourge upon all things sensible and good were then to be found shaped as wolves in the obscure fog of the feral cult of Gaurhoth. This cult wished to use strident, warlike melodies and venomous exhalations revealing the passion of J. R. R. Tolkien's creations in the manner of the newer Nordic black metal bands. Alas, this group of aspiring journeymen spilled much internal blood and the cult of Gaurhoth was unceremoniously laid to rest and buried. Hence, the two practitioners were left merely human until they returned to the cellar where the blasphemous invocations of the Antichrist had taken place the night the nubile young creature was imbued with the supreme will of Satanas! Once unleashed, however, the forces that brought this company together and savagely brought forth their creative fire could not be contained nor quenched. More and more warlike emissaries of Hades were dragged forth from the pit to feed on the world and spit forth their sardonic vitriol onto the human race.

After Temujen the Basstard joined the fold on four string gastroyer, the trio was complete and could finally bring the musical fruition that had been dreamed of for so long. These early efforts became the "Madness Disease" demo recording. This is the most stripped down and basic recording without any overdubs, polishing or refinement. Some gigs were played and reasonably received, although as yet the journeymen of Demontage were inexperienced and this lack of knowledge made it difficult to attain the level that was hoped for. New songs called for more variation in tempo and feel, more epic riffs, as well as more all-out thrashing rage.

In mid-2005, just after Demontage's abortive attempt to record a full-length album, Temujen decided that he was no longer able to give his will to the Dwellers of the Gulf during the requisite taxing ritual summonings, and so the brothers of Demontage bade him farewell. After some listless months Fortune smiled her toothless and rotting visage upon Demontage, and Pervertis joined the ranks. Pervertis was a musician with a great deal of experience and an uncanny ability to understand exactly what was needed to expand upon already existant material. Pervertis and the rest of the band harnessed this newfound skill to imbue the emerging hymns of "Sacrilege and Miscreancy" with a fresh approach and new melodic ideas.

In the spring of 2006, then, Demontage finally felt ready to record "Sacrilege 'n' Miscreancy". This meant five filth-begotten metal symphonies for the most part as yet unheard except by those who witnessed the live assaults of Demontage, plus a re-sculpting of "Carrion Race", the thrashiest song on the "Madness Disease" demo. The album was released by Unsung Heroes in August and can be ordered here:

Now as 2006 draws to a close, Demontage readies its attack in the form of new material. The diabolic force gathers!

News: February 10, 2008
Do you smell that noisome, fetid stench? Do you know what it portends? It is a signifier of a missive from the roiling seething brains of the Demontagebastards.

The Great Work of "Satan's Metal" continues. The forging has quickened many iconoclast dreams and the igneous power reveals to us wide and untapped vistas. Eight devil-hymns, which will shortly be indellibly etched into a medium for the consumption of all cultists.

In the meantime however, we have one live summoning planned, that being on April 19th at the Kathedral in Toronto. It is our pleasure to be sharing the stage with Crucifist once again, along with Bastardator, Chicago, Illinois's Nachtmystium, Horde of Worms, Malaria, Warlock Moon and Nuclear Hammer and other bands.

September 19, 2007:
Gather round the pentagram now, all ye foolhardy disciples .. and let me be sincere,It has been an age since a tale of Demontage's exploits and prognostications was told, and the forces of Jehovah have indeed once again conspired in an attempt to block our path. Unfortunately the machine where all the web files and passwords were stored expired a heat death of mammoth proportions and this the very month that the domain and hosting were set to expire. To further complicate this clearly divine-seeded set of coincidences we failed to understand some of the finer print in the terms of service agreement of our web host and thus Muspelfire was thrown into a nebulous limbo while we struggled valiantly to acquire a new set of chips. This now done, and the Internet Sharks temporarily placated, our presence and avatar in the void are assured!

We've just conducted two rituals: one in Detroit with the legendary Destructor and thrashers Nocturnal Fear and Reaper, the last in our home city with Blood Ceremony and Crucifist. This last in particular was a performance of memorably huge proportions and the night's lineup of bands (as well as the stalwart brethren who attended) deserve the utmost praise.

And now, to the future. We are honing our craft and preparing to assemble the pieces of "Satan's Metal", the forthcoming album. We expect to put much more work into this and will not be satisfied until it sounds precisely as we want it. Pervertis will be taking Europe by storm next year in his own debonair, kingly fashion and we hope to have the project as near to completion as possible by that time. Those who have seen our live manifestations of late know that we have been demonstrating some new material, and some of the best compositions are yet to come. They are all written, some as early as 2003 (Spatilomantis has already made good headway for another, yet untitled album!) and we are all absolutely itching to dissemanate this set of devillish hymns and bold statements of self-agrandisement to the world. As everything on S&M was more or less completed before Pervertis joined the fold, "Satan's Metal" will mark a more significant impact from him in terms of song direction.

Speaking of the Mad Croad, watch out for his new project of pounding, proud black metal art that will hail the might of the Eastern lands and be unveiled sometime in the coming months. As we have all heard the early mixes we can say with absolute certainty that this will take everyone by storm!

Expect some revisions to this site to occur in the interim. It's good to be back!

March 19, 2007:
The fifth belch of underground Metal-mag, Morbid Tales, is available since January of this year. This headbanger's festival covers vast amounts of underground Metal activities from mid-2006 through the end of January 2007. Alongside other occult-madness acts and allies, DEMONTAGE is featured in this issue with an extensive interview, album review and live gig report all conducted by Satannick!

Sacrilege 'n Miscreancy has also received a very positive review at Vorfeed.net and had some successful live rituals in the recent past. See the relatively newly added "Demontagebuch" (couldn't resist the name, ärrgh) for details of all past doomed gigs.

Ah, right... you'd rather see a new live performance and to the sod with archives of those past! Well, there is good news for you, too, oh enthusiastic maniac: with a dual booking of two shows within a week in the month of April, we have deemed fit to cover very nearly the entire corpus of Demontage tunes and bray them madly unto the beholding demon-thrashers. Each of two shows will cover an exclusive set of heavy dirges. Layman's translation: miss one show, miss half the show. Details are to be found below.
